Last updated: February 22, 2017 07:24

What colors do you offer?

Hardlight is only available in black.

Last updated: February 22, 2017 07:24

What sizes do you offer?

The Hardlight suit comes in one super adjustable size to allow users of many different body types to enjoy haptics with their VR experience.

Last updated: February 22, 2017 07:24

Is it comfortable?

The Hardlight suit was designed to be comfortable and flexible while being used with active VR games - we’ve specifically designed it to be breathable and sweatproof. We want gamers to feel empowered by the VR gear they wear, not ashamed by it, so the visual design of the suit draws on the science fiction games and media that VR was born from.

Last updated: February 22, 2017 10:23

Which option is best for me?

The current Hardlight suit comes with all of our core features: full haptics, tracking, and audio mode. If you’d like to augment your hardware with some of our 15 launch titles, or buy an extra suit to use with a friend, consider one of our higher launch tiers.

Last updated: February 22, 2017 07:24

What is the uniqueness of the technology?

The Hardlight suit is the only haptics system that’s been integrated with VR games to provide spatial, game-based haptic feedback. Using our technology, you can feel virtual bullets, bump into virtual walls, and receive custom-crafted alerts to highten your spatial awareness while in game.

Last updated: February 22, 2017 07:24

How is it powered? What is the battery life?

Hardlight’s base model connects to your computer over USB, and has a cable to provide continuous power. If we meet our wireless stretch goal, we’ll be releasing an add-on wireless module for purchase that can plug into any existing Hardlight suit and provide it with a 3-4 hour battery life.

Last updated: February 22, 2017 10:23

What are the dimensions and weight?

The Hardlight suit weighs 3.6 lbs, not including cables (or your VR backpack, if you have one!)

Last updated: February 22, 2017 07:24

How does it work?

The Hardlight Suit connects to the VR games running on your PC through the Hardlight Service. It can then exchange vibrational haptic feedback commands and tracking data with any Hardlight-compatible game. You can also use our service software to turn the suit to Audio Mode, where it will use the sound from any game, Hardlight compatible or not, to create stereo haptic feedback across the suit.

Last updated: February 22, 2017 07:24

What kind of sensors are you using?

Hardlight contains inertial sensors that allow us to detect the orientation of the chest and upper arms. Using the global position of a headset and controllers, the Hardlight software can use this data to track your entire upper body in VR.

Last updated: February 22, 2017 07:24

Will there be updates to it in the future?

The software that supports the Hardlight Suit receives routine updates for stability and functionality.

Last updated: February 22, 2017 10:23

How does it connect?

The Hardlight Suit connects to your PC as a wired USB device. If we meet our stretch goal, we’ll also release a separate wireless module that can plug into any existing Hardlight suit and give it fully wireless data and power.

Last updated: February 22, 2017 10:23

Is it waterproof?

Hardlight is water resistant and easy to wipe down after intense use. It is not waterproof and should not be submerged or used outside.

Last updated: February 22, 2017 07:24

Where is it manufactured?

The Hardlight Suit is primarily built in the USA.

Last updated: February 22, 2017 07:24

How do I set it up?

To set up, simply download and install the Hardlight service and utilities, then plug or pair the suit to start.

Last updated: February 22, 2017 10:23

Last updated: February 22, 2017 10:23

The suit is not machine washable, but is designed to be easily wiped down and sanitized after use.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
